Beyond the Resume

I spent years leading hiring across finance and technology consulting practices, where interviews became a constant part of my day—reviewing CVs, coordinating recruiters, conducting screening calls, and resolving hiring escalations just to keep the process moving. One experience stayed with me. My team conducted more than 70 interviews to fill just two positions, and only one candidate eventually joined. Everyone was trying to make hiring faster through standard screening questions, walk-in drives, and quicker shortlisting. Yet the process often created more noise than clarity. Candidates became overprepared for predictable questions, profiles looked increasingly similar, and teams invested countless hours with limited results. The shift to virtual interviews made hiring more convenient, but it also revealed something important: interview performance doesn't always predict job performance. I saw candidates rejected by experienced interviewers go on to excel elsewhere, while others who interviewed brilliantly struggled once they joined. That was the turning point. I realized hiring isn't just about validating technical skills. It's about recognizing potential, adaptability, authenticity, and the ability to grow beyond rehearsed answers. At the same time, organizations were searching for 'perfect' candidates using unrealistic job descriptions, while recruiters navigated copied resumes, AI-generated profiles, and increasing hiring pressure. Somewhere between inflated expectations and rushed evaluations, exceptional talent was being overlooked. That gap is why VProPle was created. We believe the goal isn't to add more filters—it's to build better ones.
